TLG: Bringing hope and a future for struggling children

We’re here because across the UK today, there are thousands of children who are struggling to cope. Poverty, trauma and exclusion cast long shadows, and for too many the future feels hopeless. TLG is all about helping churches to bring hope and a future to children facing heart-breaking challenges.

As a Christian charity, we’re confident in the difference that churches of all shapes and sizes can make in their own communities. In every town, you’ll find church communities full of ordinary people ready to make an extraordinary difference.

Alongside our network of partner churches, we are committed to reaching out to the most vulnerable children in the UK and seeing hope spread. With expertise in emotional wellbeing, food insecurity, and a crucial understanding of trauma-awareness underpinning all we do, we're seeing thousands of lives transformed for good every year!

Our story

How we help

TLG is all about bringing hope and a future to struggling children. Each of our programmes is different but the common thread is an unwavering resolve to transform lives for good. 

 

One coach, one child, one hour a week

All over the UK, children are struggling in school for all kinds of reasons and many families are suffering without hope. Some children may be struggling with a lack of confidence, have no positive role models, or just need an adult to talk to. TLG Early Intervention gives the church a practical solution to support children, families and schools in their community.

Filling the holiday hunger gap

The scale of holiday hunger is huge, with over 1.5 million children receiving Free School Meals and millions more children living in poverty. It poses an urgent question. What happens to the children in your community during the thirteen weeks of the school holidays? For too many, the food runs out. TLG Make Lunch enables and equips churches to bring hope to struggling children through holiday lunch clubs.
